Bin Salman Hits Back At Trump; “We Will Pay Nothing For Our Security To US”
"ever since the relationship started between Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, we’ve bought everything with money.”

Saudis Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has claimed that his kingdom can survive for “2,000 years on its own” days after the US President Trump warned that Saudi Arabia would not survive “two weeks” without Washington’s support.

During an interview with Bloomberg at the royal palace in Riyadh on Wednesday, bin Salman fired back at Trump over his comment that he warned King Salman to pay for its military since they would collapse without American support.

“We protect Saudi Arabia. Would you say they’re rich?” Trump told on Wednesday. “And I love the king, King Salman. But I said ‘King – we’re protecting you – you might not be there for two weeks without us’,”

Responding to Trump, bin Salman told Bloomberg that they “will pay nothing for our security.” added. “We believe that all the armaments we have from the United States of America are paid for, it’s not free armament. So ever since the relationship started between Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, we’ve bought everything with money.”

The 33-year-old Saudi prince believed it was normal for the two countries to have some “disagreements”. He said he really loves working with the US president, and that as allies, they “have to accept that any friend will say good things and bad things.”

However, Bin Salman denounced Trump’s baseless comment, saying that his country existed more than 30 years before the United States of America and will need “something like around 2,000 years to maybe face some dangers.” So Trump’s warning “is not accurate.”

Bin Salman noted that since Trump took office in early 2017, Saudi Arabia had agreed to buy a total of 400 billion dollars US-made weapons, which he called “a good achievement” for both Trump and Saudis.

“when President Trump became president, we’ve changed our armament strategy again for the next 10 years to put more than 60 percent with the United States of America,” he said. “That’s why we’ve created the $400 billion in opportunities, armaments and investment opportunities, and other trade opportunities.”
