Boris Johnson Has Resigned And The Internet Can’t Handle It

Following on from Brexit secretary David Davis, Boris Johnson has also resigned from government. As you can imagine, people online had a few things to say about that:

And he’s off

Johnson’s resignation followed several hours of him going rogue again:

Unlike in the past, Johnson actually followed through this time. People are wondering what that means for the government (if there is still a government by the time you read this):

Some people alluded to when Johnson struggled to choose between Brexit and Remain:

Others questioned who could possibly replace a man with the stature of Johnson:

And some wondered what he even did in the first place:

Although the biggest joke of all came from fellow Conservative MP Zac Goldsmith:

Because that tweet is a joke, right? Please tell me it’s a joke. I don’t want to live in a country where elected officials are this stupid.

Jokes aside

Beyond the humour, some people reminded us that Johnson isn’t just a joke; he’s a national disgrace:

Johnson is a deeply disgusting politician. He was also a woefully inadequate foreign secretary. And as such, his resignation is welcome, if not long overdue.

The resignation of the government will hopefully come next. Although – again – there’s a good chance it will already be gone by the time you read this.
