Boris Johnson Slammed For Comparing Theresa May’s Brexit Plan To “Suicide Vest”
Alan Duncan believes Johnson’s comment marks “one of the most disgusting moments in modern British politics.”

Boris Johnson has compared Theresa May’s Brexit plan to putting the British’s constitution in a “suicide vest” and handing the detonator to EU Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier.

In an article published in the Mail on Sunday newspaper, the ex-foreign secretary condemned the Prime Minister’s Chequers proposal, saying: “We have opened ourselves to perpetual political blackmail,” Johnson wrote. “We have wrapped a suicide vest around the British constitution – and handed the detonator to Michel Barnier.”

Johnson also complained that the PM’s Brexit plan is a “humiliation”, claiming that “We look like a seven-stone weakling being comically bent out of shape by a 500lb gorilla.”

“We have agreed to the EU’s timetable; we have agreed to hand over £39 billion, for nothing in return.”

“In a weird semi-masochistic way we have created the means by which the EU can bully us. We have conspired in this threat to the Union. We have put our own heads deliberately on the block.” Johnson wrote.

Earlier in July, Johnson quit May’s government in protest at her proposal for post-Brexit trades. His article on the newspaper drew an immediate backlash from critics.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid called Johnson to use a “measured language”.

“I think there are much better ways to articulate your differences,” Javid told the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show on Sunday. “It’s a reminder for all of us in public policy, whichever party we represent, to use measured language because I think that’s what the public want to see.”

“It’s not news that he has a difference of opinion with the prime minister. That’s why he’s left the government,” Javid added.

Foreign Office Minister Alan Duncan said Johnson’s comment marks “one of the most disgusting moments in modern British politics.”

“For Boris to say that the PM’s view is like that of a suicide bomber is too much.” The conservative politician tweeted. “This marks one of the most disgusting moments in modern British politics. I’m sorry, but this is the political end of Boris Johnson. If it isn’t now, I will make sure it is later.”

Lieutenant Colonel Thom Tugendhat also criticize Johnson for making fun of suicide bomber.

“for A suicide bomber murdered many in the courtyard of my office in Helmand. The carnage was disgusting, limbs and flesh hanging from trees and bushes.” The Tory MP tweeted. “Brave men who stopped him killing me and others died in horrific pain. Some need to grow up. Comparing the PM to that isn’t funny.”
