Far-Right Trump Supporters Tried To Arrest London’s Mayor While Wheeling A Homemade Gallows
Donald Trump supporters were mocked after they built a gallows and tried to arrest London’s mayor Sadiq Khan

A group of far-right protesters holding aloft American flags interrupted a speech by London Mayor Sadiq Khan and tried to arrest him for disrespecting president Donald Trump.

On Saturday, the Muslim mayor was delivering a speech at the left-wing Fabian Society about gender equality in the London when anti-Islamic nationalist from a group called the White Pendragons, shouting pro-Trump and pro-Brexit slogans, disrupted his talk.

A protestor named Davey Russell and about a half-dozen others wheeled a homemade gallows into central London and announced they were there to perform a citizen’s arrest of the London mayor. The gallows was decorated with a white dragon and the words: “Take Back Control.”

Russell is a leading member of the English Defense League, a well-known far-right organization. He is also the host of an anti-Islamic radio show, which Kent Online reported was raided by police several years ago.

Earlier this week, the mayor said that US President had “got the message” from Londoners after canceling his visit to the city.

While Trump claimed that he had scrapped the visit because he did not want to open the new US embassy in the London, Khan on Friday suggested the real reason was because “he would not be welcome”.

“Many Londoners have made it clear that Donald Trump is not welcome here while he is pursuing such a divisive agenda. It seems he’s finally got that message. This reinforces what a mistake it was for Theresa May to rush and extend an invitation of a state visit in the first place.” Khan said.

While security appeared to usher out the protesters, they were also jeered and heckled by the crowd who had come to see the mayor’s speech. Khan poked fun at the whole thing and called the protesters “very stable geniuses.” referring to Trump, who earlier this month tweeted amid concerns about his mental fitness that he is a “very stable genius.”
