Macron Mocks Trump: “When You Arrive Here And See Snow, It Could Be Hard To Believe In Global Warming”
“Obviously you don't invite anyone skeptical about global warming this year.” Macron said.

French President Emmanuel Macron made a keynote speech to political leaders over global warming at the World Economic Forum Wednesday as he kicked off his address with a joke related to President Trump’ climate change comments.

“When you arrive here and see the snow, it could be hard to believe in global warming,” the French president said to business leaders and politicians: “Obviously you don’t invite anyone skeptical about global warming this year.”

Previously in late 2017, Donald Trump said he thinks global warming is a hoax. He claimed that several US states hit by an arctic blast that brought sub-zero temperatures would actually benefit from global warming.

“In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record,” Trump tweeted from Mar-a-Lago.

“Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!” he added.

While Macron expressed skepticism about global warming, he announced that the US will pull out of the Paris Climate Accord, making America the only country in the world not to sign it.

Macron said: “a stronger Europe was needed to avoid problems with people who feel they’ve been forgotten and left behind.”

The president went on saying that the world is hitting roadblocks in several major areas.

“In terms of trade, we are moving back again towards greater protectionism, greater fragmentation and we are undoing what globalization has been able to achieve,” Macron added: “In terms of climate change, we are losing the battle. How are we going to explain to people that they are going to be more vulnerable?”

His comments come after the White House confirmed Wednesday that Macron would be the guest of honor at Trump’s first state dinner.
