“Punish A Muslim Day” Letters Posted To Britons Calling On Them To Attack Muslims
Several people in the UK have received anonymous letters this weekend calling on them to attack Muslims on April 3, termed in the leaflet as “punish a Muslim” day.

Residents in at least six communities in England, including Bradford, Leicester, London, Cardiff and Sheffield reported receiving the letters, printed on A4 paper which called on the recipients to commit violent acts against Muslims.

British counterterrorism police are investigating a possible hate crime after the letters alarmed that April 3 would be “Punish a Muslim Day,” and that points would be awarded for acts of violence: 25 points for pulling off a woman’s head scarf, 500 points for murdering a Muslim and 1,000 for bombing a mosque.

“Are you a sheep like the vast majority of the population?” the letter also reads: “Sheep follow orders and are easily led. They are allowing the white-majority nations of Europe and north America to become overrun by those who would like nothing more than to do us harm and to turn our democracies into sharia-led police states.”

Riaz Ahmed, a Liberal Democrat councilor in Bradford, in West Yorkshire County, said he had received one of the letters at his business address.

“It seems strange that anyone would send something like this to an address in a predominantly Muslim area,’’ Mr Ahmed told The Mirror on Saturday. “When I opened it and saw the content, I was horrified.”

“Understandably this is very distressful, not only [for] those who have received the letter but also for the wider communities,” Naz Shah, the MP for Bradford West said in a statement on Facebook. “I would appeal to the wider community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.”
