Queen Quietly Trolled Donald Trump With Her brooches During His UK Visit

Queen Elizabeth II wore a beautiful vintage green flower brooch which was given to her by former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle on the day she visited Donald Trump at Windsor Castle.

The vintage ornament, a small green flower, was crafted in 1950, and made from 14-karat yellow gold, diamonds, and moss agate, reportedly from a jewelry store in D.C, which was a gift from Trump’s predecessor, Obama, and former First Lady during their state visit in 2011.

On Tuesday, a Twitter user said the Queen may have been making a statement with her choice of brooches. She wore a diamond brooch she inherited from her mother the next day during her actual meeting with Trump, the brooch that the Queen’s mom wore to her father’s state funeral. The brooch is pictured in the “Three Queens in Mourning” photograph.

On Trump’s last day in British, the Queen wore the Sapphire Jubilee Brooch, given to her just last year as a special gift from Canada, in what some have speculated was a show of support for the nation and Justin Trudeau, who has suffered constant criticism from the US president.

Trump met the Queen for tea at Windsor Castle during his first official visit to the UK last week. He was accused of breaking royal protocol twice within minutes of meeting the monarch by failing to bow, widely seen as a sign of disrespect, and walking in front of her as a Guard of Honor gave a royal salute and the US national anthem was played.
